Jim is the editor of Intelligence Report, Successful Investing, Fast Money Alert and The Deep Woods newsletter advisory publications.
His books include co-authoring, “Billion Dollar Green: Profit from the Eco Revolution,” and “The Wealth Shield: How to Invest and Protect Your Money from Another Stock Market Crash, Financial Crisis or Global Economic Collapse.” He’s also ghostwritten many books and articles, as well as edited content for some of the investment industry’s biggest luminaries.
His articles have appeared on many leading financial websites, including StockInvestor.com, InvestorPlace.com, Main Street Investor, MarketWatch, Street Authority, Human Events, Townhall.com and many others.
Jim formerly worked with Investor’s Business Daily founder William J. O’Neil, helping to author training courses in the CANSLIM stock-picking methodology.
The independent firm TipRanks recently rated Jim the No. 1 financial blogger in the world (out of nearly 8,000). TipRanks calculates that, since 2012, he’s made 361 successful recommendations out of 499 total, earning a success rate of 72% and a +15.3% average return per recommendation.
The Renaissance Man Story
My nickname since high school is “Renaissance Man.” My friends and family deemed it appropriate due to the many different endeavors that I could do well. I’m a writer/journalist; singer/songwriter, guitarist, martial artist, motorcyclist, auto racing enthusiast, bodybuilder, Western horseback rider, former U.S. Army paratrooper, expert on the economy and the financial markets (my professional writing focus), and avid reader of literary fiction.
I majored in Philosophy at UCLA where I graduated with a B.A., then went to work for Uncle Sam as a paratrooper. After my military stint, I began working in financial journalism while also pursuing a music career. My latest venture is the host of this podcast and website, “Way of the Renaissance Man,” a lifestyle, ideas and personal empowerment show designed to help anyone live an extraordinary life.
